All-HAL Convening: A Pause for Healing, A Place for Imagining
Oct 6-9, 2026
The Humanities Action Lab’s (HAL) network is using the power of public memory to reshape collective consciousness about social issues and inspire action for a more just future. The work is meaningful and impactful but also incredibly demanding. Folks fighting for social justice often sacrifice their own well-being as they try to improve conditions in the communities they serve. But we cannot sustain our efforts by overextending and abandoning ourselves. This convening offers the HAL network a space to pause, reflect, and connect. Together, participants will:
- Engage in individual and collective healing practices that support intrapersonal, relational, and structural transformation.
- Participate in collaborative exercises to imagine new futures through a lens of care, connection, and community-building.
- Build a communal vision for a relational ecosystem that supports sustainable, values-aligned, collective action across HAL projects.
