Join the Rikers Public Memory Project and Humanities Action Lab for the presentation of two films and two theater performances by the Narrative Change Fellows. The Fellows have developed original creative projects that connect personal narratives and community history with the legacy of the Rikers Island jails in NYC.

More about the Narrative Change Fellowship

The Narrative Change Fellowship provides funding and administrative support to artists who are directly-impacted by Rikers Island. The 2025 Fellowship cohort is Alex Anderson (“The Time Traveler”), LadyKathryn Julien-Williams (“When Your Protector Becomes Your Perpetrator”), Turquoise Juanita Martin (“Recipes for More”), and Zaki Smith (“In Spite Of”).
